A groundbreaking ceremony for West Residences, a new luxury apartment development in Mount Lawley to the east of Perth in Western Australia, was held recently with Minister for Housing, Hon. John Carey MLA, and Willing Property Founder Tim Willing in attendance.

The event marked the commencement of construction for this highly anticipated project.

West Residences, designed in collaboration with renowned architects Klopper & Davis and landscape architects CAPA, will feature 29 grandly proportioned apartments on a unique triangular site.

The development aims to complement Mount Lawley’s character while offering modern amenities.

Sam Klopper, Director of Klopper & Davis Architects, emphasised the project’s distinctiveness: “Like New York’s Flatiron building, the site of West forms the junction between the orderly and the sublime.

“The avenues of Mount Lawley are crossed by West Parade, creating an opportunity to celebrate this contrast with a beautiful, angled form building.”

Tim Willing, whose family has resided in Mount Lawley for three generations, expressed his deep connection to the area and vision for the project.

“West Residences represents Willing’s commitment to quality and design. We’ve paid special attention to every detail, ensuring each residence offers a unique living experience with all the modern conveniences,” he stated.

The development adheres to 7-Star Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) performance criteria and aims to achieve carbon neutrality.

Features include a grid-connected solar PV system to power common amenities and EV charging stations.

West Residences will also house a Willing Coffee shop on the ground floor, designed to integrate with the streetscape and provide a gathering space for residents and locals alike.

Willing Build will oversee the construction, employing an integrated development model to ensure high standards throughout the process.

The project is slated for completion in 2026, with apartments currently available for purchase.

This development represents a significant addition to Mount Lawley’s housing landscape, aligning with the government’s efforts to boost housing supply and quality in Western Australia.
